21st Anniversary Fundraiser
Goal: Raise $21,000 To Replace 20th Century Technology
As we wrap up another decade, we come to the 21st Anniversary of Albany Helping Hands. In those 21 years, there have been a lot of changes with new technology an integral part of our lives.
In 1998 only 1/3 of the country's population had cell phones, Google was a new concept, and a company few had heard of.
Keeping on top of the training and equipment needs for new technology is a challenge for many, and Albany Helping Hands is no exception.
Your donations and volunteers help build and maintain the AHH Computer Lab.
The AHH Organization's Thrift Store and U-Haul need technology for operations. Also, PC's are utilized for Guest Services case management, kitchen inventory, accounting, marketing, and administration functions at the Shelter.
Most of the PC's are antiquated. Now the operating systems are ten years old and will not get security updates after January 2020.
The PC's each need a mandatory upgrade to Windows 10 but lack the newer hardware needed according to Wayne Oakes, Assistant Executive Director who also serves as IT Manager.
Your generous donation will be stretched with discounts on software licenses and computer hardware.
The goal for the 21st Anniversary Fundraiser is to raise $21,000 for the technology update, according to John Donovan, AHH Development Director.
Your generous contributions to the Albany Helping Hands 21st Anniversary Fundraiser to upgrade to 21st-century technology is needed today.
