Thank you contributors for your generosity to Albany Helping Hands.  Your donations and support, have made it possible to purchase a new oven which is essential to keep feeding those that are hungry.  In October we served 7,243 meals totaling breakfast, lunch, and dinner

Season's Greetings!  May the love of our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, surround you. We wish a merry Christmas to you and your family!

As I write this I had an unscheduled visitor, Steve who had been in and out of the shelter several times over the years. In spite of his new physical problems he is staying sober and changing his life.  Steve noted he now has housing and wanted to thank us for all the help and support over the years and stated he is so grateful that Albany Helping Hands was there for him.

Although Steve is one of many and all are not successes, it is such a reward seeing hope in one’s eyes and peace in their heart. Your generosity has positively impacted Steve as much as those of the community of love and care at the shelter.  It is only through generosity and caring that Albany Helping Hands exists. Thank you very much.

Another life helped is a young lady in our kitchen. She had been here previously; left and got in some trouble and has returned.  She is facing charges and we wrote a letter to the Court on her behalf outlining her progress since returning to the shelter, Including accepting responsibility for her actions.  She is doing well due to the structured environment and support.

The young woman has found part time employment and the Court was lenient in its decision. She doesn’t need jail she needs encouragement.

Your contribution impacts lives because you are an essential part of Albany Helping Hands.  Of each dollar you donate, 89.2 cents goes to support the shelter, soup kitchen and guests.

I want to say I am grateful for the many blessings that Albany Helping Hands receives, and am thankful for our caring community, dedicated staff, and the many guests who volunteer. This generosity builds my faith in humankind and shows that we are all one in the eyes of God.
