Helping Hands 6th Annual Bridge of Hope Dinner Auction Later this Month

In what has become an annual tradition, the Albany Helping Hands Sixth Annual bridge of Hope Dinner Auction will take place on Thursday, April 28th, 2016 at the Linn County Expo Center.  

This year's event is brought to you in part by Eye Care Associates, Santiam Christian School. KGAL/ KSHO Radio, Oregon Freeze Dry, BiCoastal Media Group and National Frozen Foods.

Returning to act as the events Master of Ceremonies will be Will Tucker, Linn County Commissioner who also will be the event's auctioneer. The fun begins with the Silent Auction at 5:00 pm followed by dinner catered by Jacopetti's, a short program and an oral auction. 

John Donovan, Development Director for Albany Helping Hands, an eighteen-year-old 501 (c) 3 non-profit, faith-based organization stated "This event is our annual fund raiser which includes recognition of Volunteer of the Year and Guest of the Year. The funds raised from this annual dinner-auction is one of the components to our revenue". 

The proceeds from this event help fund critical community missions including providing emergency housing and hot meals three times a day, totally over 80,000 meals a year. Everyone is welcome for meals, even those not registered with the shelter.

Albany Helping Hands also provides training and employment for shelter guests operating a Thrift Store, Pasture Feed Chicken Farm, Keep Warm Wood Lot, and Christmas Tree Lots.  Helping Hands also offers GED Training at the new GED Training Classroom, housing searches, transitional jobs programs, mental health referrals, counseling, clothing, household needs, furniture and more for those in need in our community.
