For Immediate Release  |  January 31, 2017   |  By: Jim Willhight

We are less than 3 months away from our key annual fundraising event the 2017 Bridge of Hope Dinner Auction set for Thursday, April 27, 2017 at the Linn County Expo Center.

Joining us again for the seventh annual event as M/C and Auctioneer (drum roll please),  Will Tucker, Linn County Commissioner.

John Donovan, Development Director for Albany Helping Hands, an eighteen-year-old 501 (c) 3 non-profit, independent faith-based organization stated "This event, our seventh, is our biggest fundraiser each year."

Last year the auction yielded over $52,000,  a long way from the first auction which raised a needed $1600.

Donovan stated further "The funds from this annual dinner-auction are one of the key components to our revenue".

The event starts at 5:00 pm with social hour and silent auction followed by dinner, program and live auction.

There will be a short program with updates on shelter, retail and farm operations and a look ahead.

The Program will feature special volunteer recognition with the presentation of the  Volunteer of the Year "Spirit of Pastor Bailey" Award and the "Pastor Bill Lane" Award which will be presented to the Guest of the Year.

The auctions are expected to have around 200 items up for bid. Returning to cater the event, which is expected to draw up to 272 guests will be Jacopetti's.

To be an event sponsor, auction donor or table sponsor please contact John Donovan, Wayne Oaks, Jim Willhight or phone the shelter office and ask for Pastor John at 541-926-4036.
