Albany Helping Hands would like to thank you for your past generous giving for our mission.  In the past year, generous donors like you have made possible the overhaul of our soup kitchen freezer, the replacement of an old truck, repair of the well pump at the Farm & Garden Market, and soon the graveling of the Garden Market parking lot.

Generous donors at our recent Bridge of Hope Dinner Auction helped fund our day to day operations, but we have additional “household” needs requiring funding.

  • This spring the shelter is running almost at capacity with a 15 to 20% increase in shelter guests over previous years. We provide 24/7/365 emergency housing for an average of 70 people daily, throughout the year, peaking at 110 guests, at a cost of $13.88 per day or $429 per month.

With the increase of those seeking critical services we have an immediate necessity for replacement of 20 special dormitory size mattresses and covers.   The tired mattresses are at least 15 years old and have seen thousands and thousands of nights use, your donation would make an immediate impact. The estimated cost: $2340.00.

For there will never cease to be poor in the land. therefore I command you, ‘You shall open wide your hand to your brother, to the needy and to the poor, in your land’.
— Deuteronomy 15:11 English Standard Version
  • Albany Helping Hands provides more than 81,000 meals every year to homeless and low income people, serving meals three times a day (7 am, 12pm, and 5pm),  365 days a year at a cost of $4.50 per day per shelter guest.

Your help is needed now to replace our ancient Ice Machine which is in need of retirement.  A replacement 460 pound icemaker will cost approximately $2,799.00. This critical piece of equipment not only provides ice for water and beverages, but also is required for those with special medical needs requiring ice.  Your help with a donation would be greatly appreciated.

We provide an overnight warming center during winter months, possibly saving lives, as was the case in December 2013 with record low temperatures reaching 4 degrees at the shelter. Our ministry also assists with housing searches, provides financial and social counseling, job training programs, mental health referrals, clothing, laundry facilities, toiletries, furniture and more.

We are now asking, for immediate help from good people, like you, who do care.  Your generous donation, big or small, is greatly appreciated.  So please mail your donation to Albany Helping Hands, P.O. Box 2252, Albany, OR 97321 or you can make a credit or debit card payment by phoning 541-926-4036.
