The National Weather Service Portland Office is again predicting very hot weather later this week.
We had a respite from the abnormally hot summer with a dip last Tuesday to the lower eighties.
The coolest day with a high of only 73 took place yesterday (Saturday 7/25) which also gave Albany the first measurable rainfall since June 2nd.
Yesterday's "rain" was just a sprinkle with just two one hundredths (0.02) of an inch falling at the Albany Airport weather station.
As of today, we have broken the Albany Airport daily high temperatures eight times since the beginning of Summer and an unprecedented four triple digit days of 100 degrees.
In just two days we expect highs 25 degrees warmer than today's lower 70's. Wednesday's prediction is for 98 which will be another daily high record breaker.
We expect close to triple digits (99) on Thursday (which would again break a record) and 96 on Friday
The heat will remain with us through the fist part of next month with highs predicted to remain in the mid 90's through the first week of August.
