Since our last Cooling Center Blog Update last Wednesday (August 5th) the daily high temperatures (Albany Airport) have been in the lower 80's with only one day exceeding 85.
As I write this blog at 1:30 pm, the digital reading is above 85, with today's high expected to be 89.
The highs will dip down to upper 70's for Thursday and Friday but will climb back into the 80's for the weekend and are expected to stay in the lower 80's the first half of next week (8/17 - 8/19).
With the cooler days the opening of the Albany Helping Hands Cooling Center will be determined on a day by day basis.
The center is expected to remain open into next week if the weather is as predicted.

The temperature did not dip to below 100 until 7:58 pm. At midnight the reading still over 80 degrees under the sparking night sky. July 31st added another tally to the 100 plus day count with a high of 101.1.
